Guy Guards or Guy Markers are plastic tubes that wrap around guy wires on utility poles. These simple devices are to highlight the guy wire to help prevent injury. Some of the first plastic guy guards were made by R&M Plastic Products Ltd. and since then there have been many different improvements and options. Most province’s and states have their own special requirements for guy guards and in Canada they are required to meet CSA standards.
